Aquatica ongoing development (1997-2003):
Version
1.1 (released in 1997):

First release contained 5 selectable fish that displayed over 2
selectable backgrounds.


Version 2 (released 1998):

Introduced multi-dimensional scenery where fish swim between the scene
objects. Version 2 introduced additional fish that could be download
and installed from the internet. On-screen messaging feature implemented.


Version 2.02 (released 1999):

Introduced 20 additional fish and 20 backgrounds, Internet members
area. Audio capabilities added allowing CD to play in the background
and sound effects.


Version 3.1 (released 2000):

Introduced a new interface, 32 bit engine, Internet on-screen
messaging, 20 new fish, 20 new backgrounds, 3 sounds and extended
members area.
Version
3.5 (released 2001):

Introduced talking fish, configurable talking fish sounds, compatible
with Aquatica scenery maker, The members area now contains over 50 fish and
235 backgrounds 6 Talking fish, 25 sounds with more added every month. This version is
now one of the most popular screen savers on the internet.


Scenery Maker 1.1 (released 2001):

Scenery Maker creates custom Aquariums, Seascapes and unique
underwater scenery. Save scenes directly to Aquatica Waterworlds
screen saver, create images and windows wallpaper. The members
area contains hundreds of individual objects that can be used to
create a scene. Objects include a variety of readymade components,
backdrops, bases, buildings, coral, flowers, mountains, objects,
plants, ridges, rocks, shells and wood from the online download
library. Import photos and images (all common file formats
supported).
Scenery Maker 2.03 (released 2001):

Scenery Maker functions added: Cut, Copy, Paste, Scale, Rotate, Flip.
Saves a project in a single file.

updated messaging system and new music features, allows the playback of wav files and new music modules available from
the members area
Scenery Maker 2.3 (released 2003):

Scenery Maker now exports scenery to Aquatica 3D
