Talking Fish Tutorial

The Talking Fish will only work with version 3.61 installed.

To check which version of Aquatica that you are using, double-click on the Aquatica settings icon on your desktop. Under the General tab you can see the version number beneath where it says “Aquatica Waterworlds.

If it does not say version 3.61, then you will need to download and install it from http://www.fish-screensaver.com/aq_scr.exe

Do not uninstall the previous version otherwise you will loose all of the modules that you previously had installed.

After you have downloaded, and installed a talking fish, open the Aquatica settings box, and press the fish tab. Then scroll down to select a talking fish. The talking fish are the ones with a small gray speaker icon at the bottom left of the fish as shown in fig; 2

The red border around the fish icons indicate that the fish are selected to display when the screen saver is active.

To edit the talking fish’s sound properties, click on the fish you wish to edit (this could be selected or deselect it depending of what it’s status was before you entered the settings box.

As you click on a fish, a sound button will appear next to the delete button, you can click on this button to import custom sounds for each fish that you have selected. You can either download the sounds that we have available from the following link Additional Sounds, or you can import your own. *.wav files are the best option to import, although Aquatica can import *.mp3 files, we do not recommend this option.

The sound that you see ticked in the white check box is the default sound that is installed with the fish that you have selected. If you left click, and hold the mouse down on the title, e.g., “did you backup today” as shown in Fig; 3 it will play the audio back.

You can turn sounds on, or off by selecting, or deselecting the white check box.

If you have downloaded some sounds from our web site, press the import button, to bring the sound into the Associated Sounds List:

Locate the directory where you have saved your sounds to, and then press open. This will import the sound into the associated list. When you are happy with what you have imported, press OK in the associated sounds window.

The imported sounds will appear for all talking fish, select them for each fish as required.

Make sure that the Talking Fish that you have just edited are selected with a red border, and then press the sounds tab at the top right of the settings box.

Check the Play sound effects box as this button enables or disables sounds globally. You can also import sound the same way as you do for a Talking fish in this window, they will play randomly, and have no association with any of the fish. This window is for importing ambient sounds like, ocean waves, or sonar pings etc. Press OK and this will then store all the settings that you have just made. The next time Aquatica comes on, you will hear the Talking Fish with all of the sounds that you have applied to them.

NOTE:  The Talking Fish are the front facing fish, and if you have multiple sounds selected for that fish, Aquatica will play them back randomly.
